--------------------------------------------------------- Toronto Scottish lose long-time member It is with great sadness that I report Norman Donaldson passed away on Sunday morning at St. Mike's Hospital. Norman was a main fixture for the Toronto Scottish in the early years of the club's history during the 1950s and 1960s. He and his brother Ronald formed one the more intimidating front rows of the era. Norman's hard nosed approach to the game was an inspiration to many who followed, but it was his endearing personality off the pitch that made him such a beloved character. All our thoughts and prayers are with the Donaldson family. A memorial service to celebrate Norman's life will be held Saturday, April 5th, 10:00am, at Rosedale Presbyterian Church, 129 Mount Pleasant Road, Toronto, ½ km north of Bloor. In lieu of flowers, a donation in the name of Norman Donaldson to

---------------------------------------------------------- 2008 Winter Kraal in March
RSVP to April at socialnomads@hotmail.com. How to Kraal: If you snowboard or ski, take advantage of being only minutes away from the slopes. Or, if snow sports isn't your thing, hang out at the house, relax, go to the spa or shopping. It's a weekend away from the city to do what you want and have fun in the off-season. The Kraal For those of you who do not know, the Kraal is a house on top of Blue Mountain that is partly owned by some older Nomads, along with older members of other rugby clubs. Each winter we go up for a weekend of skiing, boarding and of course drinking. The house sleeps approximately thirty people, so the more of you that come up a better time is had by all. You can come up anytime after 4:00pm on the Friday. That night we will have a few drinks and laughs - please either bring your dinner or eat on the way up. A meal will not be provided on Friday night. Saturday, we wake up early or sleep in until noon, whichever you prefer. But breakfast will be provided on Saturday. During the day we will have fun on the hill (there will be snow). If skiing, or boarding is not your thing then you can go snowshoeing, tubing, or relax and read a book in the house. Dinner will be provided to you for Saturday night. Then again once again we have a few drinks and more laughs. Sunday the fun has come to an end as it is time to go home. Breakfast will be provided before you go. As for the drinks that we will be consuming, please do not bring your own alcohol as it will be there. How that works is that once you are there you will purchase a Kraal card, most likely more than once. One card is $20; this card will get you 9 beers or 6 strong mixed drinks. The cost for this weekend will be $65 per person. This gives you 2 breakfasts, 1 dinner and accommodations. You will need to bring your own towel, pillow, sleeping bag and/or blankets. Please book your spot with April at socialnomads@hotmail.com as soon as possible as it fills up quickly. This is open to all Nomads: new, old, retired. Also, if anyone has a friend or two they want to bring up that is fine as well. ---------------------------------------------------------- See the NAGS Pantomime this Month The Nomads Acting Group (NAGs) presents 'The Three Little Pigs' by Sue Plyte, Dolores Maher & Dave B. Harris. It is a traditional English pantomime, with the usual Nags twists. The Three Little Pigs (click here fore the Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) playbill) The Bacon family arrives in town, ready to invest in property. They hook up with the local contractor to build their condo, but their efforts are constantly thwarted by the Big Bad Wolf, along with his evil friend on the local building commission and his two dopey henchmen. Throw in a handsome wandering handyman, a mayoress and her henpecked husband, and a dame who has a sheep as a confidante, and you've got all the ingredients for mayhem. And we wouldn't have it any other way!! Performances are at the TRANZAC, 292 Brunswick Ave., just south of Bloor, from Feb. 7th-9th, & Feb. 14th-16th, 2008. Thursday / Friday / Saturday evening performances start at 8:00pm; Saturday matinees are at 1:30pm. See some of your favourite Nomads acting as well as Pete Towill.
